From 25 to 5 minutes: Banfi’s order processing becomes more efficient with Order Sender Enterprise.
Banfi is a historic Tuscan winery founded in 1978 by the Mariani family, with the aim of bringing Brunello di Montalcino to the world. The estate stretches south of Montalcino across 2,830 hectares, comprising vineyards, olive groves, orchards and woodland, combining high-quality wine production, a modern winery and hospitality.
Today, Banfi is a well-established business, with a turnover of 70 million, 450 employees and two main sites, in Montalcino and Strevi. This is a significant operation, requiring digital tools capable of efficiently supporting commercial activities and order management.
Before introducing the Order Sender Enterprise order-taking software, Banfi needed to make the management of its sales network, spread across Italy, more effective.
The main objectives were clear: to centralise sales activities, speed up agents’ work, automate mobile order collection, reduce errors and improve order fulfilment times.
Key requirements also included the management of price lists and personalised offers, promotional CANVASS campaigns, smoother communication between the company and its agents and the ability to present products via digital and interactive catalogues.
Before Order Sender, the average time taken to process a standard order was 25 minutes, whilst the average fulfilment time was 3.4 days. The order capture process was poorly structured, and the telephone was still the main means of contact with the sales force for updates, checks and enquiries.
To meet these needs, Banfi chose Order Sender Enterprise, the Sales Force Automation software developed by Cosmobile for collecting orders via mobile devices and managing the sales network.
The platform has enabled sales representatives to work with up-to-date information, digital catalogues, price lists, customer details, documents and Business Intelligence tools directly from the app.
A key element of the project was also the promotional CANVASS configurator, designed to manage complex and structured promotions, apply them automatically to orders collected by sales representatives and reduce the risk of error.
The project also addressed significant challenges, including integration with the Oracle JD Edwards ERP system, the management of particularly complex CANVASSes, prospect management and the design of an advanced and customised Business Intelligence system.
The introduction of Order Sender Enterprise has delivered tangible results for Banfi’s sales management.
The average order processing time has fallen from 25 minutes to 5 minutes, whilst the average fulfilment time has dropped from 3.4 days to 1.87 days. This significant improvement was made possible by more structured processes, more reliable data and information always available to the sales force via the app.
Order Sender Enterprise has enabled Banfi to achieve greater efficiency in internal business processes, improve CANVASS management and present products through digital and interactive catalogues.
The digitisation of order taking has also paved the way for further project developments: management of the overseas sales network, advanced B2B e-commerce, integration with new payment systems, commission structures, sales targets, CRM for targeted promotions and the recommendation of specific products based on customer clusters.
The Banfi project demonstrates how Order Sender Enterprise can support established companies in the digital transformation of their sales network, making mobile order taking faster, more controlled and more efficient.
